Sabian Symbol Pisces 19

WEEK 27

A MASTER INSTRUCTING HIS DISCIPLE

Instruct, a verb which means Direct or command someone to do something, esp. as an official order. Has anyone noticed that the word used in this symbol is not "teach" but "instruct". What is the difference? The difference is the liberty and freedom which is given to the student or the disciple to be creative on their own too. Teacher teaches something, gives you the set rules and set directions, while instructor gives you a guideline, a way, a map and he trusts you with rest of the stuff being handled on your own.

Apart from that, this symbol is mainly about sharing the knowledge. There are only two states in which you can stay, either you are a teacher, or you are a learner and this goes on all your life. You learn or you teach. We all are playing either of the two roles at any given time in our lives. Knowledge is not something you can, or should, keep to yourself. It is rather something which we must share, because it increases when it is shared.

Week 19: Sabian Symbol Gemini 15

TWO DUTCH CHILDREN TALKING TO EACH OTHER, EXCHANGING THEIR KNOWLEDGE.

The first thing which comes to mind after reading the symbol is "communication" and the exchange of knowledge. The noticeable fact is that both children are from same place and speak same language, means the exchange is of experiences and opinions, personal ones. The symbol is that of Children because children are usually naive, sensitive and open to explore. They are easily fascinated by small things and they still believe they have their chances to explore life more. They are sharing what they have found out there so far and their findings are fascinating to both themselves and the others.

I have encountered some similar thing this week. I, all of sudden, came across a person whom I don't know. We come from approximately same cultural backgrounds, same academic backgrounds too, but we have some experiences to share and that is what we did. We exchanged our knowledge which we gathered from our journeys so far.

Week 17: Sabian Symbol Scorpio 15

CHILDREN PLAYING AROUND FIVE MOUNDS OF SAND.

The first thing which caught my eye about this symbol, number 5. Why five mounds?

The Numerology course I have been taking associates number 5 with Constructive Freedom.

This we can see being reflected in the presence of sand, children, and the mounds they have created in this symbol. Five is also associated with Leo since Leo is the ruler of 5th house and fifth house rules both creativity and children. Coincidence?

The way this week has been affected, what I gather from this symbol is that creativity is a kind of freedom in itself. Your mind, which is capable of having so many thoughts and so many ideas, imagination is a free pass to the world where we can create things from scratch and then try to manifest them in our realities. Sand castles is one example. Children are usually naive and less realistic than us. They have more powerful minds and thus  more powerful imagination and creativity. This symbol tells us that sometimes we need to let our creative mind wander and find a place where things are perfect. People like me, who like it better to stick to reality, its sometimes better to let go of the reality and just let the imagination take over. Like children playing around five mounds, pure, constructive creativity and freedom of mind.

Week 16: Sabian Symbol Capricorn 27

A MOUNTAIN PILGRIMAGE

Copyright: Chanpipat
Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, the planet which restricts you, the ruler of 10th and 11th house. I have never had very wonderful experiences with Saturn or its effects on me. This month I had a strong transit of Saturn at 27 degrees Libra, which is exactly opposite to my Natal sun at 27 degrees Aries. The card I pulled for this Week in 27 Capricorn. The zodiac symbol for capricorn is also Mountain Goat. Too much going on..

This symbol has manifested in my week as a week full of a heavy, steep and very very depressing ascent to the mountain, this mountain was like a necessary task, which I had to climb, I had no other choice. I won't lie that I liked the climb, but then again, what was my other option?

I was emotional wreck, I was being hard on myself, as if the outside influences were not hard enough. I was crying, throwing stuff around, breaking things, being mad at myself, the world, and the God. For the first time in life I was being a pessimist. I was not trying to solve the situation, I was instead giving up. There were some really tough lessons which the Universe wanted me to learn. I had to learn, I couldn't get through otherwise. So I kept climbing, hoping, this shall pass too!

The word "pilgrimage" also brings a sense of spirituality. We sometimes have to go through difficult, not so desired tasks in order to reach the new heights. When I was going to the top of the mountain, I was thinking about the line I read in Linda Goodman's book Sun signs. She wrote, the goat climbs, slow and steady, but they always have the eye on prize. The only thing that kept me going. The assurance of Saturn, that you will get a reward in the end, these troubles you are going through are not for nothing. The only thing that kept me sane over the last week. I was snapping, I was falling apart, but like they say, its not the destination, its the journey that matters the most.

The reason I chose this picture for this symbol is because the man is not actually climbing the mountain, he already has reached the top and now is enjoying the view. Its the prize, that keeps us motivated, its always about what it ends up with. Look at this man's face. He does not look tired, or unhappy or messed up because he climbed the mountain, he is rather happy and enjoying the view, because no matter how hard it was to climb the mountain, the view at the top is always great. This is when you start looking at things froma new perspective.

The meanings I have assigned to this symbol:
A tough, hard on nerves, breaking you apart in a million pieces journey, but if you keep your eyes on the prize, there can nothing be better than it.

Week 15: Sabian Symbol Capricorn 10

AN ALBATROSS FEEDING FROM THE HANDS OF A SAILOR.

An Albatross Feeding From the Hands of a Sailor
When I pulled this symbol out, the first word that popped in my head was "interdependence". In the larger system of Earth, called Eco System, we are all interdependent on each other, to keep the balance on the planet. Specially when it comes to food, we can see how we are dependent on other people or system or species for feeding ourselves. In an ocean for example, the larger fish eat the smaller fish. The smaller fish in turn eat smaller bugs or other creatures found in the ocean. This is how the whole system is working we cannot really get ourselves out of this, because we are part of something so larger than ourselves alone. No person can cut itself from this system in which everyone is dependent on the other.

The other side of this symbol is an act of kindness. The sailor does not need to feed the albatross, neither will the bird die if the sailor does not feed him, because the bird also happen to be a part of a larger system which is going to take care of it one way or the other. So why is the sailor feeding the bird? Kindness, softness of the heart, a mere act of generosity. Since the birds are self-dependent, and they have to search for food, therefore, its really generous of the sailor to feed the bird. Now imagine the look of gratitude on the bird's innocent face. Its totally worth it.

Similarly if we adopt these acts of kindness towards each other, life on Earth can be so much more peaceful and full of happiness and love. One small gesture of kindness towards another person, no matter how small it is, it will eventually prove worth it.

Week 14: Sabian Symbol Capricorn 22

A GENERAL ACCEPTING DEFEAT GRACEFULLY.

Five of Swords
Paulina Tarot
This symbol was reminding me of 5 of Swords throughout the week.
This is the result of power play when two people, equally powerful are head to head and one of them gracefully accepts defeat, just for the sake of letting the other win. Some people are just not too good with accepting defeat, I'm one of them. I'm the kind who will fight for honour, umm, not only for honour but sometimes winning is the habit, the most natural thing ever and losing looks like something so unnatural. Yet, people like me, who are so used to fighting for the sake of honour and fighting for the sake of justice, ego, self-esteem, you may call it whatever you want, give in to the situation. Its not because the other person is more powerful, its not because the other person is smarter (oh that's not even possible) and its not because they are better than I am, its simple because, I don't want to fight!

Yes, its me, the Mars driven ram admitting that I sometimes give in to situations, just because I do not want to fight. I do not want to fight the situation when it does not make any sense. I do not want to waste my energy on a situation where I can give in and still win it.

Its between me and a Scorpio person. We both are usually neck-to-neck. It sometimes becomes more about egos than about the matter itself. We both hate losing and we both believe at our core that I'm right and the other person is so wrong. Yet most often, I'm the one giving in.

Now ask me why and what makes me give in. Because I know exactly where they are coming from. I know exactly how to win them over, by accepting defeat. If they are smart, I'm smarter. I know their weak points and I have a 24 years plus experience of living with them, therefore, I know what lies at their core. I often believe the Snake card in my lenormand deck represents me, because that's what I am when challenged. I will manipulate the situation, I will twist it around in my favour. I will bow down if I have to but I will, eventually, ALWAYS win, because losing is not my thing.

So back to the symbol, this symbol has taught me that sometimes, its better to accept defeat,it can be because:

  • Sometimes the relationship is more important than winning the argument
  • The other person has self-esteem issues and you can still win the game by accepting defeat and then totally catching them at their worst sensitive point
  • Its part of the strategy you have been making in your head
Other than this, I do not see defeat in this symbol, I see a sense of victory in the end!

Week 13 Sabian Symbol: Sagittarius 2

THE OCEAN COVERED WITH WHITE CAPS
Ocean with White caps (art.com)

I remember the time when I was pulling up lots of 3's in my readings, and the Ship card appearing in my draws really often. One night I dreamed of the ocean and a huge ship. Number 3 rules Jupiter and Jupiter is the natural ruler of Sagittarius and Pisces. Few days after that I encountered a Sagittarius guy who was working in Navy. I remember talking to him about the ocean. I asked him if he ever looked at the sea when the sun was setting and how that feels. He told me that ocean is romantic , but also deadly.

Water is told to be related with emotions. When I looked at this symbol's description, the first thing that hit my mind was Water + Air. Water on its own is peaceful and calm, so are the emotions. What stirs it up is the Air, the reason, the logic, the sense of justice (I'm talking about the Swords Suit in Tarot). Similarly we can see in this symbol as well. The ocean is calm, its quiet and then the winds starts blowing, creating white caps in the surface. The best part is that the surface of the ocean is the only place it can effect. Wind can never penetrate the depths of the ocean. But, sometimes a light stir on the surface goes a deep deep way, sometimes creating an underlying storm in the water.

I can relate this to my last week. I wrote about my vision board and the meditations I have been doing to manifest a few things in my life. I'm trying to focus my mind on what I want my life to be like. I have had success with two things so far. One I have with me right now, and one is on the way. I must say , it works!
After seeing the results, I'm tempted to put more efforts in. I'm trying to stir the waters of my subconscious through my mind. I'm playing with my mind to stir the surface of my subconscious, hoping it might cause some stir on the surface. I'm hopeful that this stir will be strong enough, not to just create the white caps, but a storm inside the whole being of mine and bring to me what I desire the most.

Sabian Symbol: Taurus 12 for Week 12(updated)

Last week was my first week for which I drew a Sabian Symbol. The Symbol was

Sabian Symbol: A quite youthful young couple is walking down a busy street, stopping to peer into every window with joyful glee.

When I first read this symbol, I thought I might go shopping or buy something this week. I was disappointed when I did not. Either way, I'm not very fond of shopping (unlike many girls my age :D). Over the span of 7 days, I realized that these symbols are deeper than that. I should have looked at the deeper meanings of this card.

When we go shopping, specially with someone with whom every level of joy is elevated, its only natural to feel enthusiastic, joyful, excited and cheerful for apparently no reason. I have experienced these feelings when I go with my best friend or someone very close to me. When we look at things in the windows, its not the products or our desire to buy them, its just this feeling of joy you get when you see something really nice or pretty.

Another aspect of shopping while being excited is , we visualize and imagine ourselves in those things. The feel of "new" is very joyful, that is why we see shopaholics around us (my mother is one of them). I see this joy on her face every time she buys a new dress or a new ring.

This reminds me of another aspect of shopping; wishful thinking. We look at things and we feel a surge of motivation. I can well relate to this, when I look at something I have always wanted, or something I want to have but I cannot purchase yet, it gives me a motivation. I would work harder to get it, own it, posses it. and when I do, I feel a heightened joy.

This symbol manifested in my week just like that. I have made my very first Vision Board, on which I have placed the pictures of all the things I want to have in 2012. I don't know why I was so tempted to put a picture of really nice glittery shoes on that board. I'm not fond of shoes, and I'm the "joggers are fit for every occasion" kind, but it just makes me happy to look at them, so I put them there. Yesterday I was meditating and all of sudden I thought I might want to wear those white ones for my wedding (someday!). This is same as the window shopping, you buy them or you do not, but that one moment of joy you experience when you look at something beautiful or something you have always wanted but you did not know until you saw it, is priceless!

Back to the symbol, to me this symbol means, dreams are our way to success and they motivate us. Whether we can achieve them or not, that is not even my concern right now. All I know is that I'm loving chasing my dreams and I do not care whether or not I get successful in having it all! The idea or the dream is very exciting in its own! This is the feel I've got from my vision Board.
