New deck: New energy!

Greetings in 2020!

I got so occupied with so much happening in my life that I stopped reading at all.

However, recent events and a strange desire to start reading again, pushed me to order a new deck, which thankfully got delivered the next day & I decided to start posting here again. 

With new energy and new deck, I welcome you all Lenormand Lovers back to my blog!

Going with the gut: lenormand & intuition

Over the year and half of my journey with lenormand oracle studies, I have seen two groups forming on the lenormand front. One group is a believer that you shoud go by your "intuition" and not by the book. The other more traditional and more "rooted" group believes that one should not deviate from the basic meanings of the symbols and the methods to read them (combinations etc). I have been strictly Group B since day 1. The reason behind that is if you do not build the foundation by book, your building may collapse at a later stage when you are adding up layers after layers.

This does not necessarily mean I have never seen my intuition or my gut feeling play any roles. Seeing some other respectable lenormand readers who have been at it for longer than I am, they talk about the gut feelings taking a stronger position in your lenormand interpretation after a while. I guess now when its been over a year, I can sense it, like literally. I want to share an experience of such a "gut" feeling from yesterday.

My exams result had been expected for quite sometime. There is no proper date announced so students play guess games mostly. Some of them were of the view it will be 24th august and my idea was it will be sometime between 24th and 28th August. Nobody expected 23rd. When I pulled Book as theme card, my gut said it was something about my studies, and with that there was Rider + Clouds. When I looked at Book + Rider, my first thought was "exams result" and looking at Rider+Clouds its like clearing up of some sort, a news which clears things up since the lighter side of Clouds is where the confusion is clearing up.

The next day I opened my grade book on Student Account page, and it was there!

So you can see that lenormand does not tell you to strictly follow the meanings they have given you in books or in your lists or on any forum. It tells you to build a strong foundation as to what the Book can be, what the Rider can be and what the Clouds can be.Then within those limits, your gut plays along & lets you know what the Book, Rider & Clouds ARE for that particular day ahead.

This also clarifies things for those who are worried about daily draws not exactly telling whats happening ahead. Have patience fellas and keep practising!

10- Scythe

Keywords:

Iris Treppner: Danger, aggression, pain, sharp objects, harvest

Britta's : Sudden beginning, Sudden end, assertiveness, authority

French Cartomancy deck LWB: The sharp side of the sythe can indicate danger, cutting, pain, sharp objects, accidents, an operation. The blunt side can denote a harvest.

Like you can see Britta associated different meanings to this card than the other two even though the scythe points in same direction. According to Britta the pointed side is a sudden start to something to the right, and the side it points away from is a sudden end e.g Scythe + Ring is sudden start of a relationship & Ring + Scythe is an end to a relationship while Treppner's would be scythe + Ring, a threat or danger to a relationship and Ring + Scythe the threat or danger to relationship has passed.

Now my theory, this card has two sides. There is side towards which the scythe is apparently cutting, there is the other side, where the scythe is pointing away from. This is a negative card in my list and I specially pay attention to what is towards the right side of the Scythe (because my Scythe points to right, you take a look at your scythe and work accordingly). This is what I'll probably be cutting, inflicting pain, or simply moving away from. When I had Scythe + Garden I caught cold thus I had to stay inside all the time. When I had Scythe + Dog, my friend was mad at me for no apparent reason, when I had Lady-Scythe-Man I broke up with a man suddenly. The thing with this card is that you never know how it happens, but it happens just in a go, just like that, and you have already lost that thing next to the pointed side for all you know.
As far the side which the pointed edge is away from, is something you are left with, unexpectedly. I used the word "unexpected" as the adjective or modifier for this card. Ring + Scythe will be my unexpected partnership and Scythe + Ring will be my threat to a relationship or cutting off from a relationship/contract.
You have to practice and see what works for you. May be for you its the other way around.

As a Person: This is a person who has a sharp tongue. He is aggressive, very quick and impulsive, random and spontaneous. This person is also hasty.

As an advice: This card tells you to take a decision and a quick one. Do not think much, just do it.

In Love Readings: This card is a danger and a threat if the pointed edge is towards the Ring or Heart. If Scythe is the last card in the spread, expect the unexpected and I cannot assure it will be something good but its way better than having Scythe + Ring or Scythe + Man as your last cards.

Astrologically: Treppner associates Uranus, the planet of upheaval and surprises. Mystical lenormand shows the Chiron on this card which is the pain which makes you heal others. This is the area of life where we feel pain or wounded. Both decks are looking at two aspects of the symbol and both are correct in essence.The Scythe is unexpected and the surprise card and it also inflicts pain and it points the area where it hurts the most.  

19 Tower

Key words for this card:

Iris Treppner: Public authorities, court, enterprise, loneliness, Office & authority, independence, diligence, isolation, discipline, ambition, boundaries, city limits, also separation and/or divorce

Brigitte Kienle: School, education, work

French Cartomancy deck: Big, tall, borders, government, official, loneliness, arrogance. A big building ... look to the cards following to explain. ie; Tower + Tree = hospital, Tower + House = apartment block, high rise ... Independence. A large corporation.

Other meanings: The course of your life, life long ambitions, something or someone from past, protection

General meanings: As it depends on the question but this card represents authorities in a reading. It can be any "official" influence to your question, a court, a government institute, anything that is too high. This card also represents ambitions which are beyond your reach, the goals which will take long time and lot of independence on your part.

Another very important side of this card is isolation. This is not the isolation which is beyond your control i.e feeling of being left out or left behind, rather it is more like shutting others out. Sometimes we feel vulnerable and we need to protect ourselves this is where we tend to isolate ourselves, both physically and emotionally. I guess this is why the Mystical lenormand associates the meaning protection with this card. This is not the card which makes you feel stressed, or down. Its rather making the positive out of the isolation. You feel more independent, secure, bold & confident.

Representing a person or next to a person card this card tells us this person is very ambitious and very disciplined. You do not try to change the way they behave or act because they will probably just not listen to your advises anyway.

As an advice this card tells you to be headstrong. have a spine, stand tall with your head held high, and also keep an unbiased view of the situation. Separate yourself emotionally from this situation because your emotions are probably messing with your head right now.

In love readings this card shows when one or both people have gone cold and withdrawn. Its not because they want to chicken out, its simple because they just don't feel like it any more. More like emotionally closed off. In several instances this card has indicated separation. This separation is final if Ring is involved, its done willingly if Flowers are nearby and it will result is you feeling stressed of Mountain is closer. It can be a temporary shut off too look for surrounding cards. If Anchor or Tree are present around, they will take a while coming back in their own.

Astrologically, both Treppner and Mystical lenormand associate this card with Planet Saturn. Some key words about Saturn are :

"Intuition" vs. Tradition

I have been reading those long threads of debate and arguments about one group which believes lenormand is their personal prophecy and they use their "intuition" to read the symbols, whereas the other group believes that there are limitations to following your so-called intuition when you are dealing with this particular oracle based on symbols and not the imagery.

I can honestly say that I'm a traditionalist. I leant it with time that I can de-track (we all do) and find our own meanings, which sound comforting and encouraging to our ears but it doesn't matter because that's just your unrealistic attitude talking, not the lenormand. I know most of us will see Coffin next to Ring and say "Oh our relationship is karmic, its going to change its phase, its going to transform from one thing to next" but we will never face that fact that its the ugly truth; its over, move on already. With Coffin when one door closes, another opens, but we deny it, because its not what we want to hear and after all, its our "intuition" telling us that it won't end, not like this?

We can read the cards intuitively staying within the traditional methods, and actually intuition plays a far more important role than which book or course we have lying in our laps. Sometimes when you turn up the cards you will instantly know what they are telling you and that stage never came for me until I had a practice of a year with the deck. I read them intuitively, my deck is also personalized, my cards also "talk" to me, BUT I still stick to the traditional methods and meanings. I can not say I have not tried them all ;) there is hardly a method, spread, course which I have not tried, but eventually the methods that worked the best for me were the ones that are considered "traditional". There is no debate over this. There is a reason why traditions survived for centuries.

Grand Tableau for Love and Romance May-August

This is my third GT for this particular area. The previous two were really really accurate for me therefore, I have to give it another go. This one covers the period from May 2012-August 2012 i.e four months.

GT for Love: May 2012-Aug 2012

The initial Cut:

Ring - Roads - Lilies

Ring in the initial cut suggests there is a chance for something important coming right up. Roads on the other hand can either mean leaving the guilts of past behind or it can be a decision about binding up with someone. Roads can also mean "Two" specially when to the right of a card, so can be two choices, and Lilies at the end of the road can be THE MAN I choose, or it can be a decision which is taken with wisdom. Roads and Lilies both emphasize balance, and diplomacy. So there is a chance that I might have to make a choice between two suitors and the one I choose is the wiser choice. The cut is ending with Lilies, so I'm in safe hands, even if Lilies is representing a Man or a choice.

First Three Cards:

Lady in first house, I have missed this position. In the last GT I was in the last row, fate cards, but now in next four months I'm more in control. There are no past cards which tells me I'm done with the past memories haunting me and I'm starting a new chapter of my life now.

Lady - Fox - Flowers

This sounds like I should be and would be cautious about some of the offers I get. Flowers has Heart closer to it, so be very careful about the date nights (Point noted). Oh I did not notice Moon was also in there, close by. Date Nights! But they might just be plain boring any how (Tree).

Four corners:

Lady + House

I will be more at myself, more family-oriented and more comfortable this time.

Bear + Birds

Difficulties with keeping the power and strength, difficult conversations with a man may be who is overpowering. Specially with House and Bear, I can tell its someone who invades my privacy may be. 

Lady +Bear -- Birds + House

I'm being strong enough, protective, powerful and there are conversations about having a family or about family.

Lady: The Significator:

I'm in first house of Rider, so lots of activity is going on. I was on the road mostly when last time I was in this  position. Here its for four months so I think I will be facing some fast movements in love in next four months. In house of Lady is Anchor, so I'm focused, determined and mostly stable, and we have Rider in house of Anchor completing the trio. 

Lady - Anchor - Rider = So this does look like most of my thoughts these four months will be towards a rather long-term relationship than a mere fling.

Past:

There is no past woohoo

Present: 

And all of it in my control, Lady + Stars + Ship + Birds

This looks like there is a hope for moving away from all the stress from the past but the journey is making me nervous. I'm hopeful, that is a good sign, and I'm looking forward towards a movement now, that is good and both excited and nervous at the same time.

Future: Lady - Fox - Flower - Moon - Clover - Garden - Storks - Bear

The fox right next to me is saying I need to be careful, specially about the things which apparently look nice. Besides that rest of the things in this line look nice with having fun (Clover + Garden) and Garden +Storks looks like again I will be going out a lot. 

Storks + Bear just appeared in a daily draw and I could definitely notice what a BIG uplift it brought in my day. So over the four months I definitely see a BIG change or uplift in my situation.

Diagonal:

Lady - Book - Lilies - Dog - Rider

Notice how I have moved from spine side of the Book to pages side of Book this time. In last GT about same area I had Book to my left, which shows there is something I have to learn about. This time it is towards the Right which tells me that the things I have learnt will help me learn something more about a friend. 

Interestingly Lilies, Rider and Dog are all the cards which have represented some potential "suitors" in my previous spreads. There was one person who had been represented by Lilies and Rider both, and Dog was someone other than him. However, them three lie to the other side of the Book, so they are (or he is) yet unknown to me.

The Fate Cards:

I'm not sure they have always worked for me, but sometimes the message is clear, sometimes its not but it is said that this is the most important line in the GT.

Man - Tower - Rider - Ring

Ok, do you see what I see. Last time I had Man+Tower combo in my daily draw, I had some serious overpowering, structured man who came on as too organized and strict. This looks like something is in the air in next four months.

Man + Tower (Roads + Dog -- Clover +Garden)

A man who is alone, single, tall, and he is someone I have separated paths in the past , is a friend and there is fun at the end with Clover and Garden.

Rider + Ring ( Anchor + Whip -- Flower + Moon).

This looks more like a contract which is happening for the second time (I'm sure its someone from past) and there is again something nicer about it at the end with Flower +Moon.

Looking at Heart:

Heart is in house of 12-Birds, so there is lovely chatting, gossip, may be some phone calls involved. The Column says Moon - Heart - Scythe - Dog

Oh no, I'm going to end a friendship this time. This might be because of some heightened emotional sensitivity. In house of Heart is Mountain, which blocks it for me. I might find it difficult to express myself (always have). The good news is that Mice is in house of Mountain, so it will eat up the difficulty. 

Cards around Heart are Scythe and Mice which makes me even more nervous right now but diagonally its Heart-Mice-Whip so may be because of feeling this heartache I will lose my ability to be vocal about it. Scythe is directly aiming at Dog, which is scaring me. I guess I have an idea who I'm going to cut out from my life.

Looking at Ring:

Ring is in house of Cross, this looks like a relationship is put to test. It reflects Whip which can mean "for second time" or a troubled relationship. On the other hand the Whip reflects Flowers, which tell there is also joy in this relationship. So its mainly a mix, a hot and cold relationship. May be this is why its a test.

I have some really nice Venus transits till June so may be there is a chance that things are not totally hopeless yet.

Looking at Man:

Man is in house of Key, which makes him very important. Besides he is with Rider and Ring which makes him important too in this spread. In house of Man is Dog and in house of Dog is Child, so this is an innocent friend, someone younger may be but Lilies is close by so I'm not sure about his age, may be a mature younger person, and he is a friend (Dog). He reflects Roads and Garden which tells me he is a diplomat and is social one. Another important card around him is Tower which tells me he is lonely, organized and somewhat dominating. 

Book + Moon = Stichomancy

Book = the occult, mystery, secret, learning, a book literally
Moon = Dreams, psychic messages, subconscious

Yes I'm not joking seriously. This one came up in my reading few days ago when I offered two readings on a forum. Actually I once did them for my friends, so I thought why not give it a try again, just for the sake of some refreshment. Sometimes the psychic energies are high and I feel like making most of it, that is when I offer two-three readings for free.

So I was using the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer for the readings.Reason being, this is the only series which is very very close to my heart. You will find many people my age being fantasized by the most romantic fictional characters of this time, Edward the Vampire and Jacob the werewolf.

A strange thing happened after I posted the post offering the two readings. I do my daily draw at night, the cards were Book + Clover + Moon. At that time I thought this might has something to do with my test in class next day. I was wrong. When I was asleep, I saw Breaking Dawn in dream. I do not remember the story in dream or anything but I saw Bella with red eyes, which implies it was Breaking Dawn Part 2 which has not been filmed completely yet. Anyhow next morning it more like a surprise when I recalled the dream to put in dream journal.

Even strange it got when I was watching TV in the afternoon and changing channels, I saw...oh yes you got it right, New Moon was coming on the cable. It seemed like there was something special happening with the draw, the readings offered and the Twilight series.

I still am not able to make much sense of situation yet, but that was something creepy. We have a new combination for lenormand combos!

Details/Explanation here:

This spread dates back to December when my friend was seeing this guy. She was really involved and she wanted to know what was coming up.

I chose the Significator 25-RING given the intensity of the relationship.Here is the spread which is self-evident what was coming up.

Past:

There has been a stagnation, a sense of surety with this lady. She was "stuck" with an unfruitful relationship which had already ended. She was going through a stressful period of stagnation.

Transition from Past to Present:

We see there has been a rival lady involved (Lady-Snake). This lady actually was a lady from Man's past (and present too) and she actually rang my friend as well just to let her know they have been involved in past (Birds-Snake).

Present:

This man looks like a person who is more unrealistic and wishful (Stars-Man). The relationship was very much platonic and mainly was like a short-term affair so Lilies look very much sitting where they exactly should have (Ring-Lilies).The Clover-Sun adds a sense of heightened energy and happiness in the relationship which it was at that time.

Transition from present to Future:

House - Letter looks like there will be some information about some important family matters to be disclosed. The man was very much family oriented (Man+House) and the good luck they had was very much going to be taxed (Clover-Tower). Heart -Tower is a clear indication of a split. 

Future:

There will definitely be a separation which is evident with Heart-Tower. This looks like a thoroughly discussed one or at least agreed upon (Heart-Letter). There is an element of superficial love too (Heart-Letter) .

The spread relates to the time around January 13 and the update for now is that they actually separated. The man was too attached to his family to let it go for her (Man-House-Tower) and she was comfortable enough to let him go (House-Tower). They did it with mutual agreement and after proper discussion (Letter) and I will say that the card # 13, Lilies is always the answer because it is what lies at the heart, the actual truth, the reality of the situation and this is exactly what will define the relationship three months down the road.

It was just an affair!

Importance of imagery on deck

I have seen many decks, like 5-8 till now and they each try to portray a different side of each card in their imagery. I will give an example of the these two cards:

Deck: Lilac Twilight

This is the beautiful and really beautiful deck Lilac Twilight. In this card we can see a ship which is probably facing some rough times in a rough sea. The wave is high, the ocean looks scary, the Ship looks like barely keeping its balance and I don't know how it will survive the angry ocean.

what comes to my mind is, a difficult journey, facing troubles, rough journey.

Now take a look at another really really beautiful deck:

A really dream-like scene. Luxurious cruise, perfect day, beautiful waters in my favourite colour, the way I want my ocean to look like, romantic and smooth. This actually symbolises one's dreams of being on a holiday, going travelling in a cruise.

Both decks give me different feelings.  get totally different meanings from both decks. I believe I'm not alone in this.

Now lets look at another of my favourite examples:

This card looks like a road, a long journey, a path which is taking you somewhere you don't know or cannot see.

On the other hand, this is the Roads card from Mystical Lenormand which has two roads , a choice, a decision coming up.The sign of Libra in the top corner also reminds me that this card is about keeping a balance, a sense of two, with the number 22.

Now what made me post this post?

I believe I'm not alone in this, but don't we get a different feel from different decks. If yes, then which one is the right choice for us?

Does the imagery on deck changes our meanings for the card and do they help us sticking to the original meanings or do we deviate from them when we have others things added in between?

I cannot tell myself " a choice or a decision" when I look at the Titania's 22-Roads card. I would rather call it a long way.

Grand Tableau for Month of April (Updated)

The initial cut:

Garden - Lilies - Snake
Garden-Lilies is a combination where one is just playing around, non-serious flirtations, and with Snake, which represents sexuality too in some schools, This looks like this month is full of some flirtations and probably sensual ones.

The First Three Cards:

Stars  - Mountain - Sun

I have found following meanings of these
Stars + Mountain = unrealizable dream, Calmness despite the obstacles, hindrances will disappear when you reach the top of the mountain

Mountain + sun = An important aid, A long but difficult road to success, soon there will be better times

I think this tells me that this month, thing might not be easy on me, but through my hopes and faith, I can finally have success. The important help is coming from the power of faith. I will start the month will hopelessness, but the end will be better.

The Four Corners:

Stars  - Roads = The objective choice, the choice which has to be made; right decision promises success

Moon - Fox = escapism into world of unreal things, illusions

Stars - Moon = Increasing sensitivity; peace and quiet; honour, acceptance

Fox - Roads = A cunning trap, a false decision is possible

This month I have to make a choice, an objective one, whether I want to live in the world I have created for myself or the one where I actually am living. Dreams are important, but taking them as a way to escape from reality is not right. Roads has been coming up a LOT in my GT and that too at the four corners for many times. Last month it was in place of Stars, in house of Rider and now its the last card.

Lady: My significator:

Lady is in house of Lady, its own house, so I will be more like myself this month. 

I was not being me but I did get a chance for self-reflection and I did end up finding a few things, specially bad, about me. It was more like "This is who I truly am, and this is what is wrong with me, so watch it". 

Past:

Lady - Birds: 

Lady is nervous/excited. gossips. I have been there about two months ago when things were very worrisome.

Fox - Fish - Scythe - Letter - Lady

I have been digging around a lot for finances in the very recent past. Then I received a news about some money coming up. I had a few bucks last month from the project I sold out.

Mountain - Tree - Heart - Lady

Some difficult times ended and new hopes started appearing (Mountain-Tree). My relations are healthy and I have been experiencing some healthy feelings and emotions (Tree-Heart) which will effect me in the long term I believe (Tree).

Present:

Anchor - Coffin - Lilies  - /Lady/- Book

I have been undergoing a period of stagnation (Anchor - Coffin) which is forcing me to bring balance, honesty and serenity in me. This is a period of calmness (Coffin - Lilies) which is not really in my control (above Lady). Below me is the Book, which tells my secretive and introvert nature as well. However, since the Book is below me, I can decide whether I want to remain closed off or open up.

This ended up being a situation which was painful, hurtful, depressing, restraining, and deprived me of any energy I had in me. The Anchor is what lasts for a long time, I'm sure the impact of what I have been through will last a life time. I had some serious learning to do. This actually was coming from a person from family, someone I love and adore (House is near-by, Lilies are there and Heart too). 
The Book is right under me, so it was up to me whether I learn something from this tough time or not, and trust me I did learn a lot, a lot about relationships, give and take, practicality of life and oh boy! Myself!

Future:

Diagonals: Lady - Cross - Man - Moon

I find myself unhappy, its just 5th April today, and the Cross has started taking its effect. Whatever lies next to Cross becomes important and here we have Man-Moon , a dreamy and melancholic man. I wonder who he is! I will look at the surrounding cards later.

Lady - Mice - Clover - Roads

My peace of mind has been violated (Lady-Mice). I got up last night at 3am to look at my GT if Mice was close to me because I feel totally drained of energy. The Mice is actually slowly draining me and there are so many mental issues which are so annoying. There is a chance that these worries are short-lived (Mice-Clover) and luck will finally strike. This opportunity or small happiness (Clover) will be paired with a choice (Roads). I will again find myself standing at a fork point. Choices, Choices, Choices!

The bottom diagonal is Garden. So towards the end of the April, I can expect some good people around me, probably going out and socializing more.

This month left so drastic effects on my life, I wanted to save a token for this.

So this month things were a little rough regarding my binding relationship with family, I had some responsibilities which needed to be taken care of and that left me trying to move on from there, but I could not. A conversation with  a friend , about an unexpected letter, a news about a break or danger, which effects one's impressions and expressions in long term.

This ended up being the highlight of the month because my worst problem which has been upsetting me for about a month now was resolved because of this unexpected message from someone I once knew. This has given me an edge with my final year project and I'm happy about it.

Book - Garden ( Lady - Mice; Sun - Tower)

I think this is me closing myself off from public, which is draining me of the energy, giving me mental stress, trying to get myself in a high degree of safety.

I have gone out for one dinner during this whole month. My life was literally out of this world in this month. The Garden is the environment and things that are around us, and Garden being in 36-Cross house of test and pains, it was actually a pain what we have to do because of the people around us. This literally drained me of any energy I had and I ended up feeling safer and more comfortable alone.

April 15, 2012
I went through my daily draws and found out that its been only half a month and I have already drawn out 36-Cross on 5 out of 15 days. This month has been full of tests, everyday I find myself being tested, not to mention my natal and transiting Sun are at very much opposite to the Saturn right now. Saturn is also the planet which restricts you, puts you to tests and I'm very much seeing it already in my daily draws. In the GT, the Cross lies next to me diagonally to right. I'm feeling the effects in last 15 days. Cross is in house of Roads, which tells me that my way is very stressful but this is the way which I must pass through, its fate, its karma, its an exam, which I have to bear with. In house of Cross, lies the 20-Garden which tells me that I need to learn it for the sake of surviving the society and the people who are around us. 
Cross also mirrors Clouds, which tell me its the throwbacks and hindrances in my way which are making me depressed, then it reflects Tree, which adds the element of patience. I must be patient if I want to survive this test because I really have no other choice (Cross in house of Roads).There is no way out and the only way out is through it.


Looking at the Man card in house of Bear, its a Man who actually is little over-weight and is financially really well-off. He has Ship behind him because he loves travelling. He also has Ring and Snake around him so there is probably a woman and a relationship in his life about which I have doubts but no certainty. In house of Man is Letter which is right next to Lady(me), so he has messaged me today. We are diagonally connected like Lady- Cross - Man - Moon, this shows he is someone who gets on my nerves, and the very first thing he asked me about was my dreams. He knows I see weird dreams. Besides that I pulled Cross for today's daily draw as well, with Fish, he is an entrepreneur.Man mirrors Flower,Rider,Whip and knights Mice, Roads and Anchor, Lilies. It looks like he is bit troubled(Mice, Roads) and he just offered me (Flowers) to solve my some study related problem which I obviously declined. 


April 21,2012
I wrote above I did not know who the Man was in this spread and he is important because he is diagonally attached to me through Cross. 
So He is in house of Bear, so must be someone bossy, overpowering but protective and bit on the chubby side. In house of Man is Letter, which lies next to me, so he sent me a message first, in house of Letter is Scythe, so I sort of did not expect to hear from him after our last argument many weeks ago, in house of Scythe is Flower, but the surprise was rather pleasant (I'm a selfish woman), and in house of Flower is Bear, completing the series. So this man was very well anticipated by the cards.
The Cross lies between us, so its Lady-Cross-Man which tells me things are bitter between us and also he is a "blast from past". Cross lies in house of Roads, so I really had no choice.

Something about House:

We had some renovation done at home this month. Its not been finished yet but its almost done in terms of Structure. House in in house of 12-Birds, so there was lots of noise, chatter and nervousness because no one was sure how it will turn out. it was hectic and it stressed both my parents physically. They both are feeling ill. Tree-House-Coffin sums it well. My dad was not well before too but now he's more tired and stressed. I think House-Lilies-Mice suggests that.

Besides that my dad has bought a new car. He has been wanting this one for about 6 months now and he has finally bought it. This would be Storks-Rider I think. 


Something about M:
So we have come in touch again. Last night I asked the deck which card is representing him and the answer was Rider in house of Dog. He is a friend so it figures. It reflects Man, Flower and Whip which shows the pleasant and argumentative sort of relationship we have. The Bear is closer to him, which tells me its him. In house of Rider is Stars so yes he bring s new found hope in my life. 

Houses in Grand Tableau

One of my most favourite techniques to interpret my Grand Tableau with ease and accuracy.

Houses are the areas covered by each card, if the cards were placed in original numerological order. i.e 1-Rider in house 1, Clover in house 2, Ship in house 3 and so on. Now each card covers a particular matter as a house (just like the astrological houses in Zodiac, We have Aries , Mars as the natural ruler of 1st house but we may have a different ASC sign and ruler). There is a complete and very informative list for meanings of each house given by Jayce. I have been following these meanings in addition to Iris Treppner's course.

Treppner has a different technique which also happens to have proved quite effective and accurate. This technique involves using the combinations approach, I think just to keep you focused and for the ease purposes. In this technique you are pretty much doing the same thing, but if you are a beginner it would be easier to look at them as combinations. e.g in my GT here

The first house was Rider and the card in house 1 is Ring.  I will read it as Rider+Ring which is a standard combination for a news about a contract. Similarly Cross is in house of Ring, therefore its read as Ring+Cross which makes a relationship very painful and stressful at times. This way you can keep combining all the cards and keep finding what is happening in each area of your life for that time period (e.g I do a monthly so Clover tells me how lucky I'm this month, or 24-Heart tells me what is happening in area of love, and 35-Anchor tells me what is happening with the job etc).

You can do this for all the houses and there is lots of information there.

How I Do It:

Some people keep on combining houses from one to next e.g Moon in house of Cross, feelings are a test this month, Cross is in house of Ring, so these feelings are related to a relationship, Ring is in house of Rider, this relationship is on your mind most of the times, Rider is in house of Anchor, and these thoughts are going to stay for a long term and so on. you can go on and on and make a whole story by combining the houses and jumping around till you reach the Moon card again. I find that confusing because sometimes its more than 10 cards at a time. This is when the story starts blurring. I would rather just look at the house where that card is located and the natural house for that card. e.g if I want to know about my project (Book), I will see where Book is, and then what is happening in house of Book (house 26). Sometimes (remember, sometimes only) I will also see whats happening in that house whose natural ruler is located in house 26, but not always.
With my monthly Grand Tableau, I have noticed that they are a great way to form combinations because you usually know what has happened in your life in this one month and how the effect of that card residing in that house has effected that area of you life e.g whatever is is house of Mice is stressing you or adding to the stress, you would know it when you read it as Mice+That card sitting in house 23. Write the combinations down every month and you will have plenty for your own list.
There was something else too which I wanted to write about the houses, I just cannot recall now. You wash this down and I will be back, updating it when I remember *scratching head*

Roads-Flower: Take it or Leave it?

Choices, choices, choices. Once upon a time, when I was to select my courses for grad school, a person really older and wiser than me said " you are lucky if you have options". I still remember his words because I did believe him at that time. How life proceeded and what I made out of all the choices I had, that is another story, but I still try to make myself believe what he said. You are lucky if you have options.

This is right if you are a downright optimist, but what about a person really bad with making decisions. I hate when this card appears again, and again, and yet again. I'm talking about 22-Roads/paths/crossroads card. This card shows us we are at a very important point in life where we are supposed to make a decision. This card is called "decision" or "choices" because when we are having choices, we are actually facing a decision (how logical and interpretive).

The Flower on the other hand is the card which talks about all the good things in life, good company, a token of gratitude, a friend or girlfriend, a gift, an offer or invite, thus the things we just want to have all the time.

When it appears with Roads card, it means an offer needs a decision. You have to take it or leave it. Look at the surrounding cards to see if there is a hint what the decision may lead to. These are some tempting offers, some lucrative choices, but again, can't have them all!

Fox - Moon: An Illusion?

I don't know if any of you have experienced, but I feel like a different person during the day and a different person at night. This is the reason I do not do my daily draw, or my weekly draw or my monthly draw during the day. I actually never read cards during the day. Simply because my brain works more logically during the day when the reasoning is working with the daylight, we have work to do, we have bills to pay and we have things to sort. The night is a different time. This is the time to relax the brain, think about the guy you want to spend your life with, dream about the life you want to have. Its different. I sense that its the effect of moon on me.
Add in the Fox, that clever liar, who is so smart and so intelligent and who would do anything to get its prey and you are definitely in for trouble.

I saw this combination and I have experienced it too.

The Moon is a card which talks about fame, recognition, emotions, romance. Other meanings , at a deeper level, associated with this card are the soul life, subconscious desires, dreams (those we see while we are asleep). I was very much concerned about this card when it used to appear along with Fox near the Man card in my grand tableau. I was seeing this man romantically and I knew why Fox always appeared near him, but why the Moon?

Fox card talks about lies, cheating and flattery. I have already written about Fox card in detail here and here. The Moon I have discussed from a positive angle here. Together they shout:

ILLUSION

We love living in dreams, don't we? When things seem so good to be true, who would want to wake up, right? We love illusions. They make us feel what we want to feel but sooner or later, the reality jumps in, and slaps us right in the face.

When these two cards appear together, you need to snap out of that dream you are living, into reality because sooner or later you are going to find out that whatever you thought, it was not exactly like that. I can assure you that very soon you will see the reality, because the Moon will not last there forever, the Sun will dawn and you will see things differently in day light. Just like I do!

32- The Moon

This card has been making some continuous appearances in my readings and I never noticed before, until it started appearing with Rider.
The Rider represents a news, a message, a coming love, a new young man entering your life. For a girl who had her last long-term relationship 3yrs ago, the Rider is definitely an interesting spot (you know what I mean). Jokes apart, the Moon also appeared with Tree, Snake etc. I was waiting for a news, then was waiting for some emotional upheavals, since emotions is a common association with The Moon. Nothing like that happened. That was when I started focusing on other possible meanings of this card.
Another association with this card is that of the subconscious realm. I was scrying the other night with my scrying mirror and I was reminded of this card a great deal. I have also noticed that this card appears more for me when my Psychic Rhythms are heightened. I also associate this card with my dreams, both kinds-them I see with my eyes open, and also those I see with my eyes closed. I take my dreams rather too seriously because they usually haunt me throughout the day, at least the thoughts of them. Today, I'm writing about this card only because I took a nap few hours ago and I saw a dream about Clover-Whip and I was told to discuss this card.
Since after I have put up a vision Board in my room, I'm feeling a positive change in my life. This experience of strange emotions which I have not experienced before is very thrilling. The Moon, and all the cards its coming up with, one way or another describe my desires and things related to my dreams on my vision board. This card tells me that we can always realize our dreams in to reality. We can always direct our subconscious to bring us whatever we want. The Law of Attraction, the Secret and all those things we see all around us, talking about manifesting our dreams into reality, they work, I tell you they do. The only thing they depend on is , how much you believe. When you start believing something, it starts happening. Therefore, we should always keep a positive outlook when it comes to dreams. STAY POSITIVE and you will always get positive stuff out of life.

21 cards Gypsy Spread

I did this spread and I had an OMG reading so I thought I would share with you guys as well.
I don't exactly remember where I copied it off because I was going through my first journal and it had this spread which I did in August 2011 and then I decided to give it a try.

Spread:
First about the spread: It has 21 cards in 3 rows of 7 cards each. You read the three rows as Past, Present and Future.

Past =    1----2----3---4----5---6---7
Present=8----9---10--11--12--13--14
Future= 15--16--17--18--19--20--21

The 7 cards are narrated as a story.
Here is the twist that I added, because it worked for me, I looked at the central card in each row (4th card) as a theme card and the rest of the row revolves around this card. It made the reading more interesting for me.
Next we also get 7 columns which are each assigned a meaning. I used the following meanings since they were given in my journal.

Columns:
1 - Thoughts
2- Home
3- Desires
4- What you expect
5- What you don't expect
6- Near future
7- Long-term future

Example:

Past: This looks like a dream and a much hoped for (Stars) comfort (House) bringing me to a decision point (Roads) where I secretly (Book) involved myself in a short-lived (Flowers) pleasure(flower) that left me full of energy and optimism (Sun). The Book in the centre tells it was about a secret, something that taught me how to be optimistic (clover) and also how to make the correct decision at the correct time (Roads).
This was a turning point of my life.

Present: A change which brings rest and peace for the lady (me) who is feeling lonely (Tower) and unsure and restless (Fish)  about her feelings (Heart) which feel being blocked(Mountain). Heart-Mountain is the combo from my March GT. So it sounds perfect for present situation. The Tower in the middle is very true. I actually feel very isolated these days. The Lilies next to me make me lazy and sleep a lot.

Future: Fox-Ring is a bad sign and Ring-Man is another bad sign on top. I will probably be cautious of a relationship (Ring) with a Man who is younger than me or at least looks young (Child) and corresponds (Rider, Letter) from a distance (Ship).
This looks very interesting for a future event. The Fox looks like a good warning.

Looking at Columns:
1- Stars - Storks - Fox = a much awaited change which I'm constantly on a look out for
2- House-Lilies-Ring = My dad really needs some rest these days, he says he feels down and tired. He has been having some tough work schedule, his ongoing routine which is why he gets tired.
3- Roads - Lady - Man = Roads are behind me, I'm looking at them (if placed in a line), so I'm looking for my options and my alternatives when it comes to men (and I literally have to make a decision any time now).
4- Book - Tower - Child = The reason I'm alone is because I'm being too naive and in literal sense, new semester starting at University.
5- Clover-Fish-Rider = Some money is coming up, and I hope it does, I really need some.
6-Flower-Heart-Letter = a romantic love letter or a message in which someone asks me to a date
7- Energy will be blocked till I decide to move on or success will be found abroad (Mountain-Ship).

So here was the spread with the reading, and hope you guys will try your hands on this and I wish it works just as good for you as it did for me.

Book + Fox: Detective work!

Book is mainly looked at as "Secret" and the "Unknown". We see here the book is closed and we don't know what its about. The secondary meanings which I associate with Book is education, my Final Project specifically, since the cards have often chosen this card to represent my project. The Book, besides these meanings, can be documents, paper-work, letters, diaries, or occult knowledge.
Its something you need to learn about or discover.

There is a theory about Book card. The card towards the open side of the Book is something you know about, something you have a little idea about. The card to the spine side (right side for this deck) is what you have no idea about. I experienced this in my monthly GTs where I got the combination Book+Dog in one month and Dog+Book in next month. The first month was when this person had not appeared in my life, yet, and the second month was when I knew a little (not much) about him.

The Fox card has been talked about and discussed a lot in these two posts; here and here!

I said in that post the direction Fox is facing is what needs to be sniffed out, what requires an investigation and what can be wrong. The Fox is towards the Spine side of the Book, so one can assume, there is some lie or cheating which is not discovered yet. The Fox will sniff the Book, but won't be able to get much out of it since its facing the Spine side of the Book. so we can say:

• Despite the effort, secret won't be revealed
• Sniff out a secret
• Finding out a secret
• Detective work
• Make sure the documents are complete before you dispatch them.

I sense I will get a news about my project document that I submitted yesterday, I hope I did not miss anything in that!

Update: The day I had this combo drawn, the next day i was literally checking The Secret out at a book store! amazing!!!

Fox + Ship

Here we looked at Fox as an adjective, now we will look at it as a Noun.

Fox is the card of lone-wolf style and Ship is also a lonely ship moving in the vast sea. This is the first thing I see common among the cards.

Fox looks for answers, Ship looks towards fulfilling dreams and wishes, Fox is clever, Ship is exploratory, Fox finds facts and logic, Ship is carefree, Fox is deceitful, Ship is wishful.
These are some of my thoughts on both.

Fox represents a warning, what one must be careful about. The way Fox is going is what needs proper sniffing, however, what is next to Fox is what helps or aids the sniffing or digging IMO.

The Ship is card of journey mainly. It can be a small journey or a holiday trip. It can be the movement, change and longing for something. The waters represent emotions and the waves are ups and down we face, the Ship is exploratory. It explores the foreign lands (waters).

If you look at both pictures, they are moving in opposite directions.
If you are going on a trip and these cards appear, be very careful, something is bound to happen, so do check your vehicle, your flight schedule, the travel documents you need.

 Together they can mean:

• Exploration of facts
• Change is the name of the game
• Moving on is the clever thing to do
• A trip/journey will help unveiling something or finding out something
• A movement which one needs to be careful about
• Find it out!
• You need a strategy for fulfilling your wishes.

These are some of my thoughts on this combination, please comment if you have something to add.

Ring + Anchor: Stability or restriction?

Ring, obviously means a relationship which you are devoted towards, a marriage, routine, cycles, processes,something that happens over and over again, contracts which legally bind you, a bond very strong.


In love, its commitment, not necessarily a marriage.


In career and studies its a process, cycle, a batch, completion of a task, end of semester, work contract.

I associate Saturn with this card 35-Anchor because it reminds me of determination and stability Saturn bring, not to mention how restricting it is. This card appears a lot around a Capricorn friend of mine in my readings. Anchor restricts a ship from moving, so if you are Ship kind of personality, this is your restraining factor. The positive meanings are durability, comfort point (Anchor keeps you at dock, your "anchor point"). German meanings associate this card with work.




Traditionally, if we look at this combination, it would be a Job/work contract, but there are other meanings as well, in terms of love and relationships specially. 
Ring + Anchor represents a relationship which is comfortable, which is stable and durable, but again, if you are a kind of person who needs space in relationships, this is a chain around your neck. The Anchor will make the relationship a lot routine-like, very solid, but can be boring as well. Analyse which relationship of your life is pinning you down and is restricting your movement when this card appears. It can also be a relationship from past which is keeping you from moving on.
